You can buy and you can sell
You need no money but hypocrisy
Love is just a need
Like the blind man's stick
It breaks and then has to be replaced.
Emotions are more of an excuse
Never noticed when expressed
And affects only when it hurts.
We seek more hatred and sorrow
'Coz we appreciate it more
If you are happy, no one cares.
Condolences are always meant
'Coz people fear god and death
Birthday wishes are seldom so
'Coz you are still here for your last one.
Some days are important for you
But no one bothers as its yours
Everyone does when its theirs.
There is no choice, there is no escape
You are stuck in lies and seek truth
And so you go out and do good
And you do it to create a smile in the air
And more than god you fear loneliness
You seek relationships but as a need
And then you are back to square one
What you get is what you do, its true.
Through the roads, under the shade
I walked, waiting for my fate And then the sun starts glaring
and the birds stop chirping
Thirsty grasses start quenching
as they see the dry leaves falling
as helpless and hopeless, I was waiting. Unable to solve the destiny’s paradox
the wait for my fate ended and I failed. Neither the wind spoke, nor did I
unspoken words, pricking my soul
spurted as tears, but dried soon
as mechanical smiles, but lost sooner
dried in the heat, lost in dry leaves. I don’t want to forget, don’t regret
as I stand prepared, waiting for the next.
And then you fall and then you rise
This fight is not for all but the wise
There is anxiety and there is grief
There is work to do in time brief
There are tiny but trillion thoughts
And inside you, your mind rots
There is failure but there is hope
And you can do without dope
There is loneliness but there is love
One day you'd see the white dove
Tough times many will come on your way
But "all for good" in the end you'll say
You would have many, not one choice
But always hear your own inner voice
I am not far but inside you somewhere
For one reason that you are here.
And then you fall and then you rise
And then you learn of this life's disguise.
Alone on the top, it stands bold, yet to be bald
Confronting the winds which could only be heard
formidable to her whipping and thrashing
There he stays forlorn, serenading to the waters
And though his voice is silenced by the roaring waves
he does smile and he does cry, in times wet and dry
He watches the people afar, the smoke and the smiles
He promises an experience, wishes a hug in return
But seldom does he get the peace of a new-found love
Someday he would be weakened like the flying fowls
when he would bend the last angle to kiss the ground
And then from miles away would be seen just a memoir
And stories of isolation, valor and vulnerability
The lonely palm tree, standing bold and to be bald.
I close my eyes and I see you smile
And only then, you could be mine
Let this illusion stay and you leave me not
Stay with me for the sun and the stars
Its been unfair always but seldom fair too
I ask for a chance today, my apologies to you
Let this love be all yours this hour
Please stay, Let not my love be alone.
We are caged souls soon to entertain the crowd
And though we get pennies in return,
We go on to pursue the end, the end of woes
And one day when we have nothing to lose
There would be something we'd eagerly want
Today's future would soon be our present
And till the end, let our hands be free
For someone to hold them and walk along.
State of rage and state of fear
All have I seen in this month of may
Rhapsodized and then reconciled
And now today I am stranded in this game
Like the tombstone waiting for its name.
A poor boy once in a bad old time
He was disparaged and then he was in love
And then he heard the dulcet dirge
He has seen me when the thoughts went low
But most of it he wont mention right now.
The warm mellifluous melancholy
And the chilled northern winds
They come together, brewed by the blue sky
Penning the finest poetry yet very austere
Recollecting the past, predicting the future.
There is a revolution in my head
There are incessant deaths, blood all over
Every moment she dies in my heart
Not a suicide but a murder
By the foes of frolic and traitors of time
And when my eyes not often try to talk
And when I serenade to the petrified dark
I am silenced by her echoing soliloquy.
A young soul with an old mind
Staying up the night of cold boredom
A prolific poet or a philanderer
You would demand and I shall gift
And then would you sing me lullabies
And then would ask me when and why?
And then would you call me across the street
And promise to make love to my dreams?
In the sublime love of yours
Would rot my melancholy serenade
And then if you hear a voice at midnight
Would you wake up and embrace me
For I would be bleeding and would need you
For I would be tired of the unanswered calls
For I would desire for you just to say goodbye
Forgive me sweetheart, I made my choice
And I want to be a gangster and live till I die!
I want to fly a jet-plane
High up in the sky
untouched by the people beneath.
This earth which lifts me up
sends me close to the stars
would call me back someday
And I have to land.
I am too scared to hit the clouds
and be lost,
for it would be a sin.
I love my craft
And the trail it leaves behind.
The beauty of it I shall want to see again
So today I would land it
to fly with it tomorrow again.
Days like clouds fly
Everything just passes by
Only if a desert they cross
They should weep
But they would not
For they respect its identity
Could be there evil thunders
Who make the desert green
Might it not be a sin
The choice lies within
To kiss the devil or to hug the rest!
A poem composed long back in an amalgamated emotion of sorrow and joy ..
At last the clock has turned, at last the warmth is fading
Among the woods of my neighbourhood, I stand to shed my leaves
Like moments drowned in wine, smoking away the past.
Me, my friend and a heart I love all will quench my thirst
Not to let me grow bold and brave but to water my nostalgia
But I am lost, in the search for warmth, in the search for smile.
Too many desires I have fulfilled, too many lives I have lived
Today this hour I wish for one hour more of my favorite emotions
One hour more of the time we smiled, of the time we grieved.
My soul, my fellows, the men I owe I here to admire me one last time
On my road to freedom, of the heat, the rain and the cold, I would dream
That one night, by the roadside, I am relishing with them the words I lost.
And the day next I will wait for the spring like an angel wearing green
Infant twigs will sooth my heart, remind me the autumn cold and blue
But the road ahead is too long to sit and talk, too short for a silent walk.
One day I would see the light
Along the dark road to nowhere
The winds of south would come
Tell me the stories of heaven
There, where we have nothing to talk
And there where there is nothing to stop
There is no place to go but there is a way
There is no sorrow neither there is joy.
No reason to go there but to feel my breath
Oh my friend! don't be sad, sing to the woods
And the dew would wash away your tears
And the cold breeze would dry them.
And at the end freedom awaits me
And at the end my heart can feel my soul
And at the end there is nothing to regret
And at the end is the end to all failures.
